This is a NECA report on TRS earnings.

Fund

One eye opener is how much VRS earned from July 2006 to June 2007.   Almost $350,000,000 (350 million smackeroos).   Forgive me, but I don’t buy into remarks of VRS providers that subsidization rates for VRS are low.  

In reviewing the fund report, keep in mind that u can’t really compare traditional relay service earnings with VRS or Internet Relay earnings.   Traditional TTY relay service, CapTel, and STS are based on interstate minutes whereas Internet Relay and VRS are based on entire nation.   The local and intrastate minutes for traditional TTY relay service, CapTel, and STS are paid by states.   We do not really know how much ENTIRE cost of traditional TTY relay, CapTel and STS really cost.   We do for Internet Relay and VRS because these services are fully funded by the federal funds.
