I think it is a good idea to hold back what we say if we didn't see the product. I have seen just about all except for 2 of 4 CSDVRS products. Yes, I have seen VP100, VP200, OJO, MVP, VPAD, Z150 and Z340. I know two of these mobile products currently connection problems. I have a couple friends who have VPAD and I could not even call them. I also have a friend who tried to receive calls from MVP but they don't even work. The friend's 340 made contact with the MVP and it works flawlessly! Z150 is the Mercedes Benz of all VP. This Z150 would blow your mind once you have it and use it! It is true that the Z models have bugs sorted out and have been proved. They are working on the platform to be installed in these products. I am exciting about these products. It is neat to buy the VPs and own it completely with no strings attached.

I do not want variety of colored VP in my office since it would not be professional. It does not even look like a phone booth since phone booths do not have a screen. No handsets... The Z150 is a space saving product. No need to buy expensive TV to go with it. I have been contacted by a friend with Z150 and it works!

I suggest you try them before you make judgmental decisions. I have seen others and I don't even want them. I want the best and I am getting them soon!

Dear Devil's Advocate,

Absolutely! The more video phones out there, the better it is for us deaf. Or is it matter of dilemma? Which should VPs should be picked? A nice dilemma to be in, I think.

As you said the CSDVRS products already on the market for a while so means less bugs. VRS does require little bit configuring than what is "typical", but I understand that it is easy. As u said, worth "testing the water" to see how the products are.

If those of you who already got these products, share your innermost thoughts on these Z VPs; do as well on other VPs you now have

eyes open & thumbs up,

I've been reading your comments. I understand where you stand, but let me play as the devil's advocate... Here are the huge advantages of owning those two Z products:

1. You pay for it = you own it, its not a loan program like other places. Plus, you have more freedom when it comes to selecting a VRS company.
2. ZIP 340 - the smallest VP on the market within the deaf community and its scratch resistance! Now, tell me where else can provide that? Much easier to bring it around than the other kinds.
3. ZT-150 - looks like a pay phone? Not even close! It is light-weighted, can be placed pretty much anywhere especially next to your computer, and has one of the highest picture quality ever. This is specifically designed for office use.
4. Yes, all are designed by other companies other than CSDVRS: A huge pro is that it has been on the market for a while which means less bugs! That is a smart move to me.

There are many other benefits. It won't hurt you to test the water...Hey, if you happen to dislike it, you can always take it back within 30 days. Here is your opportunity to try all the options. Instead of complaining about how behind we are, let's enjoy the choices we have at hand. The next few years will be very exciting!

I see now that CSDVRS did not make this products as it has already come out by other company. So only Sorenson, OJO, Viable and soon Hovrs will the company that makes for deaf/hh

But you know what - there are probably some VRS who are now closely watching this. They are now seeing some VRS selling their VP so now they will start up the mentality - why should we give them out. Who knows they might be watching your minutes (even though they aren't supposed to). And if it turns out that they are losing money - giving away free VP and the customer is not using their service - then charge em for the VP. I really think we as consumers need to pay for our own VP. This way - it would give us the flexibility without being tied to any one VRS (because the VP is defaulted to the main VRS of that VP producer). So with this in mind - it allows us to purchase the VP of our choice and use the VRS service of our choice.

Whatever the VPs stuff what we have... ALL of them are OK but better than nothing. For iPhone, American are exciting to have latest product. However, outside the USA are laughing for that. Because, there are several mobile phones that already have more features than what iPhone has. Did you know that Japan don't need to have iPhone, why? Few years behind on its technology. Why? Just because American WANTS more money before next technology stuff. As you know that iPhone has 3G - wow wow... But don't forget that 3G are available in FEW areas in the USA - oh please.

Whatever - we SHOULD take a look into other countries which have more technology. So, do not think that America is number one on technology for anything, just a few.

Cheers!

As for the iPhone and other Apple-Macintosh related peripherals (computers), we need to make sure future processes done by Apple are very strictly neutral meaning Apple shouldn't lock themselves in exclusive technological advances with Sorenson Communications and GoAmerica and/or any other providers.

Dan,

I hope that iPhone manufacturer will make sure that this is compatible with VRS if video conference is used. It would be so cool if we can use VRS on iPhone. Will it happen? I don't know...I sure hope so.
