Yes, it used to be where WiFi meant free. That’s dwindling now. Starbucks, for example, used to provide free WiFi for folks coming in. Not anymore. However, a few cities provide free WiFi from city fathers. This practice has not really “caught on” yet.

And, yes, you’re right. On WiFi, it is between VRS user and the hotspot provider, not the VRS provider.

The problem comes from the fact that “wireless” means different things to different people. The mobile phone industry has adopted the term. That kind of “wireless” is clearly not WiFi, which is also wireless (there are no wires.)

Most laymen don’t know the difference, so most customers will ask “is there a cost for the service? monthly??” and of course the answer is rightly, “No, it’s free.”

If you are located at a hotspot that requires you to pay for WiFi access, well, then that’s between you and the hotspot provider, not the VRS company.

I’m aware of WiFi system but they kept telling people that…it will be FREE and I had to stratch my head…FREE??? Like you said…air card, I have one and I have to pay…so. Thats why I’m not sure why Purple Team told them…as for Viable and CSDVRS, I asked them and they said that we have to pay “air card” time.

HOVRS had said that MVP has browser; meaning it is able to browse Internet. If that is true, then yes can use WiFi; either free or cost. The cost probably will be in form of credit card. Most airports are not free.

Unfortunately, more and more Starbucks coffee shops are no longer free.

The best bet is air cards like the ones with Sprint or ATT where they charge monthly rates; typically used for laptops. I don’t know if MVP, VPAD+ (new) or Z or any other mobile VP can utlize that.

Maybe you can clear this up with us about WiFi. I spoke with Purple Team several times and they said that it’s FREE to use WiFi “only” when its available in the public as such as Starbucks/Applebees. I think Purple Team sending wrong info because most people like us think that it will be 100% WiFi out there when we want to use MVP. I’m not sure if I am correct or so.

For example, at the airport, they do have WiFi and I have to pay per hour using their WiFi. Will MVP work WiFi at the airport and how we pay for it?

That was writer’s opinion. When I see a University over hundred of years producing thousand of deaf/hoh movers and shakers, deaf leaders, etc., which Gally has done – I would say calling Gally prestigious is not out of question.

That’s just my opinion.
