Another article profiling 30 potential Commission members. Regardless, it's an interesting read about some of the who's who in the telecommunications industry.

Remember Davila was a first during "Daddy" Bush administration, celebrated by the Hispanic community but seen and owned by most of us as the first "Deaf"presidential appointment. Deaf trumped Hispanic... ultimately best qualified, how refreshing a concept huh?

I agree, Ed you would be a great person to be on the Commission. I hope that the new administration will begin to make advances in naming "firsts" that extend beyond race and gender.

I don't know too much about those who are being considered. I can share from personal experience though that Mignon Clyburn from the SC Public Service Commission was very supportive and voted to approve my work to establish Snap!VRS back in 2004. So, of those that I read about I think I could recommend Clyburn.

Directive - Issue order approving application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to provide local exchange and interexchange telecommunications services including video relay services with the state of SC and request for flexible and alternative regulation.

Henry,

Flattery will get u no where ;-]

Seriously, better bet would be Jeff Rosen, Kelby Brick, and quite few highly qualified deaf/hoh folks.

Double seriously, I hope that Obama will choose a person that is not unlike Kennard when we had our honeymoon times with him.

eyes open & thumbs up,

Ed
