But remember, with that advance also comes perils such as losing privacy, using advances in technology to proliferate crime... etc... As long as we have imbalanced people, there will always be something bad about technology. You would not want to point pager/cell at a criminal watching you. Or look for reflections as it may show you taking picture as well then bad guys can identify you. However, people who do see a crime being committed will need to be careful about the criminal seeing them take a photo. There have already been TV shows depicting someone being killed who had used her cell phone to take a picture. On a different tangent, I think it would be a good idea for cell phone users who have built-in cameras to find out ahead of time how to send pictures or videos to local newspapers---in preparation for emergencies, disasters or accidents that might occur. For example, imagine if a picture of a new funnel cloud (tornado) was sent asap to a local newspaper. That would be important evidence that could help mobilize sending out alerts asap to the community. Newspapers also need to make it easier for citizens to find out how to send photos to them.
