Federal Agencies On Hold by New Obama Staff
21 01 2009All..
President Obama and his new staff are going to take a hard look at the programs of federal agency. A quote from Chief of Staff, Emanuel send "hold" directive to all federal agencies, including the FCC. See below. What this could mean is whatever the FCC is planning on to do with relay service will be put on "hold" until the new team of Obama looks at the considerations.
"Chief of Staff Emanuel sent a memo to all federal agencies and departments to halt consideration of pending regulations throughout the government until the new staff can examine them, White House officials told CNN."

Thanks for the information for both 1/21 an 1/22.
Will keep my eyes widely open.
Please forgive me if I don’t understand this. If it is on “hold” then how come the relay service is still operational?
“Hold” on future spending, perhaps?
David
Hi David B,
Hold merely means that the “considerations” of the federal agencies including the FCC will be on “hold” until the new adm has a chance to review them. The new adm may want to change the policy, or whatever. Relay services are still operational and so is other federal programs now in place.
Under Republic regime, most federal agencies follow the model that Republic prefers, and now under Democrat, so there may or may not be significant changes to how the federal agencies should handle their programs.
Personally, I hope there will be significant changes.
