You have heard lot of media news that USA is lagging far behind rest of the world for fastest broadband speeds. Well this article is sorta a reality check and assess the circumstances realistically. Turns out that we’re not too bad after all.
Biggest reason why we’re "behind" is simply we’re big country. Most of Europe countries are densly packed.

The biggest improvement we could see immediately is reaching out to those who are in the smaller towns and out in the country. The industry calls this the “last mile”. I believe we will make huge strides in this area once WiMax and LTE advanced becomes widely available. The second biggest improvement would be lower prices. These are the two biggest reasons why many Deaf people are not able to have access to VRS services from thier home.
