I can say from my own personal experience when I started Snap Telecommunications (Snap!VRS), Clyburn was engaged and interested in my proposal for Snap to become a telephone company and the idea of providing VRS. Clyburn voted in favor of Snap’s Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) to offer telephone service and VRS.

For clarity of the record, I am no longer involved with, associated with, responsible for or knowledgeable of Snap’s business other than what is part of the public record or my own experience as a consumer.

Links to the docket when I founded Snap which Ms. Clyburn participated in the process.

Thank you for your complimentary remarks.

Trust me; there are times my blogs/vlogs are boring, but I am glad to do these type of service as it empowers y’all to make an intelligent decision. I try to be as impartial and fair – not always easy to do that.

Again, thanks, Sam.

Ed,
I like your very informative newsletter. I was searching for information about close caption on the internet that I noticed is not provide for many of the video of news events going on. I wonder if FCC is going to require news on the internet have close captions for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing?
I did not realize that this is going to be a communication problem because close caption is provided on television and cable programs, but I am using the internet more and more and would like to have access to what is begin said.

Do you have any comments on this? Thank You.

Alex,

I will try to include some news on closed captioning. Unfortunately, right now Internet news is “out” of FCC jursdiction. I think best way at this time to address this issue is via your congressmen/women.

I, too, agree with you. It infuriates me big time to see video news clips are not being captioned.
